Pop-Up Studio, Mask Mandate & More!

Workout Club #StrongerTogether Team!

What a week it has been!

First, how exciting it has been to introduce the new indoor Pop-Up Studio! The reception has been so positive…keep the feedback coming. If you are still nervous to move inside: we get it and we got you…

  • Swing by to check it out and ask a staff member to take you through it.

  • Or, try a class on us and if you’re uncomfortable: leave. No judgment here.

  • And if you’re still not ready to move inside: ask about our Virtual Studio OR better yet….meet Colleen outside on the Spin bikes Tuesdays at 6am & 6pm and Thursdays at 6pmPlease be advised that the Glofox schedule will be updated this week with the correct inside/outside categorizations.

Second, yes: it is true. Masks are 100% required when visiting the Gym or taking a fitness class starting today, Sunday, December 13th. For many of you, this is really not a big adjustment. For some of you, we understand the initial apprehension and concern about working out with a mask, but we are here to assure you that it is totally doable and extremely possible. (And much better than the alternatives!) Remember, it’s just temporary and not for forever. As my grandmother used to tell me, “this, too, shall pass.”

Our instructors and staff are here to help you navigate the change, but in the meantime, here are some suggestions:

  • Bring a few masks to try until you find your “favorite.” These have been highly recommended: https://www.mission.com

  • Bring a few spare masks to change out if you get extra sweaty! The disposable ones can sometimes feel heavy when wet.

  • For the next week, we will offer all members free plastic shields to put in their masks to create some breathing space, if they would like. Janene highly recommends using these.

  • Wear your mask correctly – keep it above the bridge of your nose so it is doing its job!

  • You may pull your mask down to hydrate, but please pull it back up when you are done sipping.

  • If you need a mask break, please don’t hesitate to step outside during a class (especially as you transition into working out with it on.)

  • Doors will remain open in both the gym and indoor studio to allow air to circulate, so dress appropriately and embrace layers! If you need tips for dressing for success, check out this blog post:

  • Our instructors are cognizant of the transition period mask-wearing during classes may require and will adjust the workouts accordingly: but please don’t hesitate to adapt and adjust your workout as you need to until you are comfortable wearing the mask.

  • If you’re thinking it’s going to be awful, it will be awful. Focus on the positives: we are still able to work out together, we are open, we are feeding our minds, bodies & souls every time we sweat together…there is so much good that comes from the power you all exert each and every time you walk through these doors. Give it a go – and if you still hate it after, send me an email or pull me aside and let’s chat it out!

At the end of the day, the thing to remember is this: we are a Community who has managed to have great success staying healthy and safe because of the work your Club and our Clients have done. Let’s keep our eye on the prize and continue to keep wellness as our top priority. It’s like the second to last round of any interval workout: it may feel like the absolute worst, but we are almost to the finish line. Deep breath in, focus on your tough mental game, and just get it done!

We will be #strongertogether if we continue to work together. Conor & I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your understanding, patience, and unwavering support during this time. We are committed to you and dedicated to getting through all of this as long as you keep doing your part.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you!

Colleen & Conor.
