Conor and I have been paying close attention to the rolling 30-day contact tracing data Massachusetts releases every week regarding the COVID numbers and active clusters. We look at the data from a few different lens’, but one thing remains the same: we always examine it with your safety as our top priority.

As such, we have noticed a trend - the numbers regarding Fitness Centers, especially, are so low that they are impossible to see on a graph when the Case/Cluster axis numbers are as large as they are. What you will notice is that in order to actually see the cases and clusters trending when it comes to Recreation (which includes Casinos, Movies, and Gyms,) we have had to adjust the Case/Cluster numbers from tens of thousands to hundreds on that same axis. It is true that #MASSGymsareSafe.

We have relayed this information to our local, state, and federal representation, but the truth is: fitness centers and restaurants have seemingly been a scapegoat for the State and villainized when our leaders should instead be celebrating the successful implementation of protocols and procedures we have enacted and you so willingly embrace for keeping all of us safe.
